At a meeting of the parliamentary commission on transport in St. Petersburg, an initiative to increase the fine for non-payment of parking is being discussed. The amount of sanctions want to increase by two thousand rubles – from three to five.

The topic of raising the fine is raised in Smolny not for the first time. The authorities note that it is more profitable for St. Petersburg residents to pay three thousand for refusing to pay for paid parking, than to transfer money for ten hours of parking at the maximum tariff.

At the same time, the shortcomings in the work of applications for paid parking were corrected, the transport commission tells. Drivers can pay for parking if they happen to be late, or correct a typo in the data.
