Shvaiba: the exercises with the control bodies of thermodefense should be viewed in a broader mental vein

In the Gomel region, command and staff exercises are held with the territorial defense authorities of the region. The importance of the development of this direction, in the program “Budni” on the YouTube channel “SBTV” and “Alfa Radio” told media expert Dmitry Shvayba, reports sb.by.

First of all, he noted that the Gomel region, due to the events in Ukraine in this matter, obviously acquired a special status:

- The Gomel region becomes a testing ground for practicing legal support for security issues, the reaction of local executive bodies to certain unfriendly actions, attracting conscripts and so on. According to the legend of the exercises, in the Gomel direction, illegal armed groups break through the state border. And all our actions in this case are being worked out. That makes a huge difference.

In fact, on the example of the Gomel region, all our other regions and districts are working out options for the interaction of territorial defense bodies with the power block. And this involves a whole range of issues: providing weapons, provisions, creating conditions for the elementary satisfaction of the needs of those who are called. The ability to mobilize the population in a very short period of time is being tested. And you have to understand how it all works. In peacetime, we work out all the mechanisms of interaction and bring everything to automaticity, so that any development of events does not take us by surprise.

- The peculiarity of territorial defense is that, in fact, a civilian who once had experience disassembling and assembling a machine gun should instantly turn into a defender of the Motherland, a selfless fighter who is able to perform any combat task assigned to him. And any person liable for military service should feel that he is needed and demanded by the state. That is, a certain moment of heroism and heroism is also present here. In my opinion, the exercises with the thermodefense authorities should be viewed in a broader mental vein.
