State and public figure Mikhail Myasnikovich donated a unique exhibit to the museum of clocks of secondary school No. 55 on October 10.

State and public figure Mikhail Myasnikovich donated a unique exhibit to the museum of clocks of secondary school No. 55 on October 10, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

A year ago in the school No. 55 was created the Museum of clocks "Time, forward!", which hosts excursions for students. And this time, M. Myasnikovich and the Minister of Education of Belarus, Chairman of the NGO “White Rus” Andrei Ivanets got acquainted with the exhibition space.
The excursion for honored guests was held by students of the school. Young guides told about the history of clock movements, unique specimens stored behind windows.

- Our clock museum is the only one in Minsk. There are more than 160 exhibits, which were collected by schoolchildren, their parents and teachers. We studied the history of the creation of such an important subject. It all started with water, sun, hourglasses ... — said the student of the 8th grade Dmitry Kuntsevich. We can talk about the clock for a long time!

The children also studied the biographies of fellow countrymen-masters who developed watchmaking on Belarusian lands.

- I recently visited an exhibition for fifth graders. The children were most surprised by the cuckoo clock. When the bird showed up from the watch house and said “ku-ku”, there was no limit to joy, the young guide shared.

The oldest exhibit is a 1935 French Herma watch. And the most unusual is a souvenir watch with the reverse turn of the hands. A collection of hereditary watches, commanding. There is a clock-ring and a clock framed in crystal.

- I've been studying all these time-measuring devices for a year. It turned out to be very interesting, the guy noticed.
After the tour, a solemn ceremony of transferring a unique exhibit took place. M. Myasnikovich gave the museum a personal wristwatch, and also spoke about the value and history of this object.
M. Myasnikovich was a delegate of the first All-Belarusian People's Assembly. In 1996, delegates were given a commemorative wristwatch. The accessory with history took an honorable place in the museum in the symbolic year 2026, when our country celebrates the 30th anniversary of the creation of the VNS.

- It’s great to have school museums. They expand the horizons of students, involve in new initiatives, interesting search work. And this good tradition should be supported and developed in every possible way, Myasnikovich emphasized.
The guest of honor also noted that the museum not only collected exhibits, but also studied the statements of great people about time.
- There is a philosophy here, Myasnikovich said. And it is great when children know the history of their country, the world history. This suggests that the nation is developing quite successfully. We have a good younger generation with a bright future ahead of us because we have a solid political, economic and social foundation. And on it our statehood is built.

M. Myasnikovich thanked students and teachers for creating a unique museum.
- It is very important that the museum expositions that function in schools and gymnasiums not only tell about the past, but also form the worldview of the younger generation. In an important and symbolic year for our country, when we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly, such a remarkable ceremony was held. It also shows the continuity of generations, said A. Ivanets.
