Leading specialist of the weather center “Phobos” Mikhail Leus said that the fall of the first snow and the formation of temporary snow cover in Moscow with a high degree of probability will occur later than the average multi-year period.
According to him, in the capital in the XXI century, the first snow on average falls on October 18, and temporary snow cover is formed on November 3. As Leus wrote in his Telegram channel, there is a high probability that both of these phenomena will be noted in Moscow significantly later than usual.
The weather forecaster also noted that today the highest snowdrifts in Russia were recorded at the Bokhapcha weather station in the Magadan region, where snow cover reached 41 centimeters. In second place is the weather station Nenastnaya in Khakassia with 38 centimeters of snow. The third place is occupied by the weather station Baimka in Chukotka, where the height of the snow cover is 30 centimeters.
Earlier it was reported that a strong magnetic storm began on Earth.
