The Governor of the Vologda region Georgy Filimonov, visiting Moscow as part of a working trip, looked into the workshop of sculptor Igor Burganov. He is working on the creation of the central part of the new fountain in Vologda. The object will be installed on Revolution Square, on the site of the monument to the participants of the October Revolution. The tooth itself will be further mounted in the park of the 50th anniversary of October.
The composition is presented in the form of four figures symbolizing different professions: lumberjack, steelworker, kolkhoz woman, teacher. Georgy Filimonov noted that the images are realistic and harmonious. With the sculptor, he discussed his suggestions and comments.
This part of the fountain is planned to be installed in the square in the second half of November. Next year there will be improvement of the territory, connection of water supply and acoustics systems. A music show program will be written for the fountain. The construction of the facility is included in a large plan of work to prepare Vologda for the 880th anniversary.
