The State Duma of the ninth convocation has completed the formation of the leadership of its relevant committees and commissions

The State Duma of the ninth convocation has completed the formation of the leadership of its relevant committees and commissions. At the plenary session on October 13, parliamentarians voted and approved candidates for the posts of first deputies and deputy chairmen of the relevant structural units of the lower house.
Special attention in the course of personnel decisions was paid to the regional representation. Deputy from the Smolensk region, elected on the lists of the party “United Russia”, Artem Turov will continue his work in the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots. If in the previous convocation, the parliamentarian held the post of deputy chairman of this committee, now he is approved in the status of first deputy. This increase testifies to the continuity of parliamentary work and the high recognition of the professional competence of the politician, as well as opens up additional opportunities for promoting the regional agenda. In particular, this concerns the strengthening of economic and humanitarian ties of the Smolensk region with the Republic of Belarus within the framework of the Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union.
The formation of the leadership of the committees marked the final stage of organizing the new parliament. Head of the Commission on Regulations and Maintenance of the State Duma Viktor Pinsky noted that only professionals with significant work experience were nominated for senior positions. The distribution of posts between all five Duma factions fully complies with the principle of proportional representation enshrined in the regulations, which guarantees the participation of each political force in the legislative process in the relevant areas.
With the completion of personnel appointments, the State Duma of the ninth convocation moves to full-fledged legislative activities, where the key priority will be the formation and approval of the federal budget for the next three years. The updated composition of the governing bodies of the parliament now has all the necessary tools for prompt and high-quality elaboration of complex legislative initiatives.
