Smolensk Pedagogical College and Theological Seminary strengthen cooperation

Within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Smolensk Orthodox Theological Seminary and the Smolensk Pedagogical College, Metropolitan Isidor of Smolensk and Dorogobuzhsk met with first-year students in the Throne Hall of the Diocesan Administration.

The visit was of a cultural and educational nature: students visited the Cathedral Court, the Holy Assumption Cathedral and the seminary itself, where they got acquainted with the life and traditions of future clergy. To the participants of the meeting, Metropolitan Isidore presented icons of the Smolensk Mother of God “Odigitria”, the Holy Gospel and books of spiritual content. The rector of the seminary, Priest Dimitri Gamilovsky, gave the group a tour.

Such interaction is an important step in the education of a harmonious personality. Contact with the history and spiritual traditions of the native land helps young people to find a strong historical connection with the heritage of the Motherland. The meeting was held within the framework of the state policy to preserve traditional Russian spiritual and moral values.
