From October 7 to 10, Moscow hosts a large-scale agro-industrial exhibition “Golden Autumn – 2026”, which presents the key achievements of the Russian agro-industrial complex and serves as a platform for discussing topical industry problems. The event is attended by the heads of the veterinary service of the Smolensk region: the head of the Main Department of Veterinary Andrey Karamyshev, the head of the OGBUV "Gosvetsluzhba" Vladimir Tyurin and the head of the regional veterinary laboratory Olga Yakovleva.
On October 8, the award ceremony for the winners of the industry competition took place, during which the awards were presented by Tatiana Balagula, Director of the Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. The Main Veterinary Department of the Smolensk region was awarded a silver medal, a diploma and a letter of thanks from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. These awards were awarded for their contribution to the preservation of veterinary traditions and history, the popularization of the profession among young people, as well as for the creation of the Corner of Veterinary History of the Smolensk region.
Governor of the Smolensk region Vasily Anokhin noted that the veterinary service of the region demonstrates high professionalism and a modern approach to its activities. He stressed that the award is a well-deserved assessment of the work of Smolensk specialists who daily ensure the epizootic well-being of the region and make a significant contribution to the food security of the country. According to the governor, veterinary medicine is not just a profession, but a vocation that requires deep knowledge, patience and concern from a person.
The corner of the history of veterinary medicine, which became one of the reasons for recognition, opened its doors on July 1, 2026 in the building of the Main Directorate. Its creation is intended to pay tribute to the specialists who stood at the origins of veterinary medicine in the Smolensk region, and serve as an important tool in the patriotic and moral education of the younger generation.
