Smolyans can look into the future
The Smolensk regional branch of the Union of Designers of Russia launches a unique exhibition-competition of digital art called Neurocode in Smolensk

The Smolensk regional branch of the Union of Designers of Russia is launching a unique exhibition-competition of digital art called Neurocode in Smolensk. The memory of the future”. The project aims to explore what cultural values – from architecture to family memories – are worth preserving for people of 2126, passing them through the prism of artificial intelligence.
The organizers emphasize that this is not just a competition for the most beautiful images created by the neural network. The focus is on the creative process, where a person acts as an ideologist, and a machine helps to bring to life impossible images. Participants are encouraged to use generative neural networks as an artistic tool to create their visual message for the future.
The program of the competition includes several thematic areas. The City Code category deals with architecture and urban spaces, while the Memory Code deals with history and cultural heritage. The Human Code category focuses on the emotions and images of people of the future, while the Code of Things focuses on the design and new forms of familiar objects. A special place is occupied by the special category “Smolensk 2126”, in which the participants will present the image of the city in a hundred years, which has preserved its historical identity and character.
Acceptance of works will last until November 5, 2026, after which experts and spectators will vote. The results of the competition will be announced on November 9, 2026. The best twenty-five works will be printed in a large format of 2.5 × 2.5 meters and presented in the final exposition at the Tenishev Cultural and Exhibition Center.
To participate, it is necessary to provide a square image in high-resolution JPEG format, specify the neural network used, a fragment of a prompt and describe the author’s idea in detail. At its core, the Neurocode Project is an experiment designed to find out what human traits will remain unchanged in a world where technology is capable of almost anything.
