Smolyans can protect themselves from fraudsters with a new digital service on public services

In the Smolensk region, the digital service “Protection against fraudsters in the network” is actively promoted, which is available to users of the State Service portal. This service, launched by the Ministry of Digital Services of Russia and the Analytical Center under the Government of the Russian Federation within the framework of the federal project “State for People”, helps citizens to prevent attempts of deception and improve their digital literacy.

The service offers two main situations:

Fraudsters are trying to access public services. Here is a detailed instruction for restoring control over an account if a citizen accidentally gave a password or code from an SMS to attackers.

I want to protect myself from online scams. This section contains recommendations for protection against cybercrime: prohibition of actions with real estate, registration of communication contracts and loans without the participation of the owner, account protection through a trusted contact person, as well as security rules for phone calls and combating financial fraud.

Particular attention is paid to vulnerable groups of the population - children and the elderly. Special sections on cyber literacy have been developed for them, which explain how to recognize phishing attacks, create a strong password and secure a mobile device.

The service contains useful links: an interactive map of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, a form for submitting a criminal complaint, the ability to check credit history and issued SIM cards, file a complaint against a malicious site and report a suspicious call. There is also a database of 86 current fraud schemes with their description and a digital literacy test that allows you to assess your knowledge.
