President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko spoke in favor of building business ties and cooperation with Western neighbors in the current difficult situation. He stated this during a working trip to the Minsk region on October 12, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency reports.
- We need to work with our neighbors. And with Poles, and with Lithuanians, Latvians. In this situation, when food is in trouble in Europe due to this drought, it is necessary to quietly cooperate with them. Neighbors are neighbors. When we not only look at each other through the crosshairs, but begin to cooperate economically, this suggests that we may be able to avoid war, Alexander Lukashenko said.
The President drew attention to the existing trade opportunities on the example of wood fuel pellets, which are currently in short supply in a number of neighboring countries.
- I'm surprised at Poles. Firewood in Poland, and in Lithuania, all the neighbors rose in price. Well, take wood, pellets and other things at an affordable price. They fight. Well, they do not want to take, they should not, the Head of State emphasized.
- We can't sell them tomorrow. Because we massively began to switch ourselves to these wood and pellets. Good technology. Gomel (enterprise in this regional center). — Approx. ed.) makes a good boiler: pellets in the bunker fell asleep — and automatically fed. We'll master it. We will need these wood and pellets ourselves, the Belarusian leader added.
