Neighborhood quarrel over bad smell ends in murder

A resident of Khabarovsk received 7 years in prison for killing a neighbor in a communal apartment. The conflict occurred after the woman demanded to close the door of his room because of an unpleasant smell, according to the MAX-channel of the courts of the region.

In February 2025, a woman returned from the dormitory kitchen to her room with a knife. At that moment, she saw a neighbor leaving her room. He left the door open, and an unpleasant smell came from the room.

The woman asked the man to close the door, but he refused. Between the neighbors there was a conflict, during which she stabbed him in the stomach. The man died on the spot.

After the incident, the convict did not call an ambulance. She washed the knife and went to bed.

The court found the woman guilty of murder and appointed her 7 years in prison with serving a sentence in a general regime correctional colony. The sentence has entered into force.
