The Vladimir branch of Sberbank organized a mobile blood donation point on its site as part of the all-Russian action “Donor Day”.
The action was attended by 25 employees of the department. More than 12 liters of blood were collected. For one of the donors, this procedure became the 40th in a row, which gave him the right to receive the title of Honorary Donor of Russia.
“Regional blood transfusion stations are in constant need of resupply, as donation is the only source of components for patients in emergency operations and treatment. Our employees traditionally take an active civil position, so we regularly open the doors for visiting teams, said Igor Chermoshansky, managing director of the Vladimir branch of Sberbank.
Help: According to specialized medical organizations, about 1.5 million people need blood transfusions annually in Russia. The needs of large medical centers are high: for example, in cardiac surgery clinics, from 12 to 15 liters of blood are consumed per treatment site per year. Some patients suffering from clotting disorders require blood components throughout life.
