Mogilev State Electrotechnical College has opened a new specialty – “prevention and elimination of emergency situations”, qualification “technicians”. In the first set - 25 yesterday's 11-graders. For 2 years and 10 months, the guys will master an integrated profession and graduate not only as firefighters, but also as drivers of category C. “Banner” learned how classes are held and how this direction will develop.
- Earlier, the Emergencies Ministry solved the personnel issue at the expense of our graduates-electromonters. But they had to carry out annual retraining - for the state it is serious money. The new specialty decides directly. We studied in detail the experience of colleagues from other regions, because similar specialties are opened in Polotsk, Soligorsk, Pruzhany, Gomel, and developed our own model. After graduation, the children are waiting for guaranteed employment in the structures of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Mogilev region, alternative redistribution in the Ministry of Internal Affairs or civil work as a heavy truck driver. Those who wish will be able to continue correspondence studies at the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
To prepare future rescuers, the college created a thematic study, and also installed a unique stand for training specialists in fire alarm service - this is not in any region, conducts a tour of the office master of industrial training Peter Siborov:
Rescue technicians need to know how to turn off any electrical installation. Thanks to our stand, we complement the theory with full-fledged practice.
Also, at the expense of the regional budget, the college purchased a MAZ truck - the basis for most fire trucks. And next year they plan to open a laboratory – a copy of the MOE database: boxing with workwear, equipment and equipment. Soon there will be a training tower to practice climbing the stairs to height - construction is already underway. In the meantime, cadets are actively training on the basis of the Mogilev fire rescue squad and the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, where there is everything necessary.
From eight points and above, reserve officers with combat experience became the curators of the group. One of them is a lieutenant colonel of the internal service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the reserve, Alexei Zavyalov. After 25 years of service, he returned to the first, pedagogical education, to pass on the experience to a new generation.
Alexey Alexandrovich conducts specialized subjects – labor protection and rescue training, which includes both theory and practice. We started with the basics: cadets study fire hoses and trunks, sleeve bridges - everything that rescuers work with daily. Guys learn to handle combat clothing, remember the location of equipment in the technique. By the end of college, these will be full-fledged specialists, ready for service and able to work professionally with any equipment.
Alexey Zavyalov does not hide his pride in the first set:
- The guys picked up very good: with high intelligence, inquisitive mind and an average score of eight and above. Most of all, they like it when I bring real examples from practice, devote them to professional subtleties. For example, they were very surprised that you can not wear a wedding ring on the road – you can hook up and be left without a finger.
By the way, the college focuses not only on professional training, but also on the comprehensive development of future rescuers. They are engaged in patriotic education, help to open up in creativity and sports. For example, everyone must visit the gym.
In addition, it is planned to create its own ensemble. The children will perform with creative numbers, acquaint the audience with the profession of a rescuer and motivate schoolchildren to go to college. Also in plans – cooperation with the famous search club “Viccru”. Before entering, I trained for hours at the stadium. Students from the new specialty are delighted. Stanislav Senko came from Orsha. He says that he always looked at rescuers with admiration, so he ventured to join their ranks:
- Before entering, I went to study and physical training - I trained at the stadium for hours. For me, the most interesting part is practice. Real fire tanks are often brought to our college and we learn to work with real equipment.

- I decided I was going to be the first lifeguard in the family. My parents are proud of my choice and support me. It inspires you to study hard and develop in the profession.
