Special forces “Phoenix” won the championship of the Smolensk UFSIN in weightlifting

In the Smolensk region, a departmental championship in weightlifting was held, in which 25 strongest employees from six institutions of the penitentiary system of the region took part. For the rigour of judging and compliance with the rules was monitored by the invited expert – master of sports of international class Sergey Sergeyev.

Athletes competed in the classic double-athlon in seven weight categories (from 63 kg to 95+ kg). To perform two key exercises – the push of two 24-pound weights from the chest and a jerk – each participant was given 10 minutes.

As a result of persistent struggle, places in the team standings were distributed as follows:

1st place: The team of the special purpose department "Phoenix" (UFSIN).

2nd place: Team of correctional colony No6 (Roslavl).

3rd place: Athletes of the detention center No. 2 (Vyazma).

In personal championships, gold medals were won:

Igor Shtapurenko (Department apparatus) - in the category up to 63 kg;

Dmitry Gorelenkov (Roslavl) - in the category up to 68 kg;

Vladislav Maksyuta (Roslavl) - in the category up to 73 kg;

Mikhail Deryugin (Vyazma) - in the category up to 78 kg;

Artem Fomochkina (OSN Phoenix) - in the category up to 85 kg;

Maxim Egorov (OSN Phoenix) - in the category up to 95 kg;

Dmitry Onoprienko (Vyazma) - in the category over 95 kg.
