Special exercises “Cobalt-2026” will be held in Tajikistan from 18 to 23 October
On the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan from 18 to 23 October in accordance with the Plan of joint training of forces and means of the Collective Security System of the CSTO.

On the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan from October 18 to October 23, in accordance with the Plan of joint training of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system for 2026, special exercises will be held with special units of the internal affairs bodies, national security, internal troops (national guard), special and anti-drug services, as well as rescue and firefighting structures that are part of the special forces of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (FSSF) of the CSTO, under the conditional name “Cobalt-2026”. Before the start of the exercises, competitions will be held in military-applied sports, including tactical shooting from various types of military small arms. During the active phase of the exercises, combined groups of special forces of the competent bodies of the Organization’s member states will make a mountain-field training exit to the mountainous terrain, will solve applied operational and combat tasks in conditions as close as possible to combat.
In the process of working out the training issues of the special operation, special forces from the CSTO member states will improve cooperation in neutralizing gangs and terrorist groups, suppressing the activities of armed smugglers and blocking drug trafficking channels, as well as eliminating the consequences of emergency situations arising from hostilities and terrorist acts. In the exercises, it is planned to use special auto and armored vehicles, UAVs and aviation.
The leadership of the CSTO Secretariat will take part in the active phase of the exercises and summarizing their results. Representatives of the relevant structures of the CIS, SCO, UNODC were invited as observers for the exercises.
