Sports near the house: in Central opened a new playground

A playground with street simulators was opened in the yard of the house No. 17 on the street. Zaslavskaya October 28. Pensioners, people with disabilities, as well as those who want to maintain physical activity and improve health will be able to study here. The opening of the civil initiative was attended by an assistant to the deputy of the Minsk City Council of Deputies Anatoly Vederchik Nikolai Svirsky and representatives of the administration of the Central District.

- Implementing the initiative was not easy. After discussing the project with the head of the administration of the Central district Valery Voronitsky, we began to look for opportunities for the manufacture of equipment. The Department of Execution of Penalties of the Ministry of Internal Affairs joined the work: simulators were manufactured in Dzerzhinsk, and also helped with delivery and installation. This made it possible to put the idea into practice, said N. Svirsky.

The project passed the competitive selection of the Minsk City Council of Deputies and won due to its social significance. The commission paid special attention to the fact that the site is designed for the elderly and those who need to be able to engage in physical activity in comfortable conditions, near the house.

- The total cost of the complex was about 17 thousand BYN. Significant support was provided by the company A-100 and fitness complex "Central". Thanks to joint efforts, it was possible to create a space that will be useful to people, said N. Svirsky.

The initiator of the project was a resident of the house Larisa Pikalova.

- We have long wanted to have such trainers. In other yards and sports grounds, equipment is available, but it is designed mainly for children or more trained people. There were almost no suitable options for pensioners. Together with a neighbor, we walked around the squares, looked at various street installations, looked for those that would suit us in age and capabilities. When they decided on the idea, they turned to Deputy Anatoly Vederchik, well, you see the result yourself, Larisa Semyonovna said.

Work on the project started about a year ago. It was possible to realize the idea thanks to the joint efforts of residents, representatives of the deputy corps, district organizations and partners. Such an object is of particular importance for those for whom restoration is not easy. Among the residents of the house is a young man Egor Drobot, who suffered a stroke. For him, the opportunity to practice near home can be an additional incentive to maintain activity and return to the usual way of life.

- I think such a place is very necessary. It is great that now near the house there is a place where you can study at a convenient time, work on yourself. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this idea to life, the guy shared.

Work to develop an affordable urban environment in the Central District continues. According to N. Svirsky, another sports complex is installed on the street. Red, near houses 1, 3 and 5. Just there is the Territorial center of social services of the population of Central, and the new site will complement the infrastructure of the district, will become a space where residents will be able to engage in physical education and communicate.

- More than 2.5 thousand people with disabilities of I and II groups live in the Central district. It is important to create conditions so that everyone can lead an active lifestyle and feel part of society. Such initiatives make the urban environment more comfortable and help to take into account the needs of different categories of citizens, Svirsky said.
