It became known how the oral exam in history will be held
Karelia confirmed plans to introduce a mandatory oral history exam for ninth-graders, which will become an admission to the state final certification (GIA)

Karelia has confirmed plans to introduce a mandatory oral history exam for ninth-graders, which will become an admission to the state final certification (GIA). This was reported by the head of the regional Ministry of Education Natalia Karmazina.
The innovation will start in 2028 (within the framework of the 2027/2028 academic year). The exam will be held in February-March, outside the main period of the OGE, so as not to create an overload for students and teachers. The format of the test will be similar to the final interview in Russian: it will be a conversation, during which the student will have to demonstrate the ability to reason and argue his position.
According to the minister, the exam is aimed at developing skills of expression of thought and forming a worldview. As Natalia Karmazina specified, we follow the model of the oral exam, so that each graduate could argue his position, based on the historical experience of his homeland. The head of Rosobrnadzor Anzor Muzaev added that the tasks will not contain “guessing” and will correspond to the materials of unified history textbooks.
Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society Vladimir Medinsky noted that over time, the exam may include questions on social studies.
Currently, in a number of subjects of the Russian Federation, various models of the exam are being tested with feedback from teachers.
