The Governor of the Vologda region Georgy Filimonov said that in the regional capital began work on the construction of a new airport complex. The contractor is now developing a pit, installing fences, conducting temporary power supply.

The airport is being built as part of the national project “Effective Transport System” on behalf of the President of the country. After construction in Vologda will be able to serve more than 200 passengers per hour. The old terminal building with its famous mosaics will be preserved as a historical value. There will be a museum here.

In the future, a contract will be concluded for the reconstruction and extension of the runway. Work will also start this year.
