Erase as a person, turn into silent slaves. Lukashenko on ethnocide in Western Belarus

For 18 years, the most brutal practice of ethnocide was carried out in Western Belarus, and today the West is trying to put Belarusians under the lash again. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said this in his speech at the Youth Forum. Belarus. The future, dedicated to the Day of National Unity, reports the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency.

Speaking about the events of 1921, which led to the division of Belarus, the President stressed that the eastern half of the republic began to build a completely new life. For the first time in history, all Soviet citizens became equal in rights.

- And the Western Belarusians? They remained strangers on their land, farmhands of a known state, torn from their homeland. But most importantly, keep it in your heart. Of course, these are our heroes – heroes who adequately responded to the challenge of the pan order, Alexander Lukashenko said.

The President drew attention to the fact that for 18 years – from 1921 to 1939 – the most cruel practice of ethnocide was carried out on the territory of Western Belarus:

- Enough time to make people forget language, tradition, history. The main task on the part of those to whom we were handed over was to break people spiritually, to erase them as individuals, to turn them into silent slaves who could not even think about unity and equality. During this time, a new generation grew up in the so-called Polish Peoples’ Prison. But no one has forgotten, no one has renounced or broken away from the roots.

Ah. Lukashenko stressed that Belarus still remembers the events of those years.

- The territories annexed by Poland were returned to the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic. And no matter how anyone tries to tell you, young people, through new-fangled social networks their versions of events, we must tell the truth, not for everyone, that punitive operations were carried out in those years in our Western regions under the guise of sanitization and pacification. Courts of war sentenced activists and ordinary citizens who dared to consider themselves Belarusians. Prisons were crowded with those who wanted to speak, learn, pray in their own language, the Belarusian leader said.

Ah. Lukashenko also stressed that Belarus should be able to withstand the current redivision of the world:

- Today there is a battle, the division of the world is happening before our eyes. And we need to stand in this situation, relying on our allies. But they're gonna whip us. I'm not thickening. I don't need this. I am just warning you as the future leaders of the country who need to ensure sovereignty and independence.

The head of state noted that the West sometimes writes about the history of Belarus, its identity and innate sense of respect for landlords.

- The essence of their science is simple - to make Belarusians live under the whip again and work for the pan. I know this better than you do, said Alexander Lukashenko. Any negotiations, meetings, discussions with our Western partners speak about this.

At the same time, the President noted that, for example, the US representatives with whom he is conducting dialogue do not directly speak about the desire for Belarus to leave Russia. According to Alexander Lukashenko, it is beneficial for Western countries to break off cooperation between Belarus and Russia and China.

- Therefore, I warned them at the very beginning: the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China – we take the two countries out of brackets, are not discussed (during the Belarusian-American dialogue). - Approx. Belta. When you imposed sanctions on us, they opened the door for us. This is why we live and work today. It was said honestly and directly. But, I emphasize once again, the Americans never dreamed about it, they never spoke out loud, the Belarusian leader said.

According to the head of state, it is not Belarus that is the main target, but the resource-rich lands further to the east

- They (Opponents in the West). We are ready to trample it once again, tear it apart, kill every third person, but break through there – to the east to the resources they lack. Who doesn't understand that today?
