The GAI stressed that the main goal of such events is to reduce accidents and protect the most vulnerable road users: pedestrians, cyclists and SPM drivers.
Inspectors of traffic police departments of the Partizan, Soviet and Frunze districts of the capital conducted explanatory work with pedestrian road users and drivers. The first law enforcement officers reminded about the importance of using retroreflective elements, especially in the dark, the second – about the need to reduce the speed in advance when approaching a pedestrian crossing.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs drew attention to the fact that in order to improve road safety, the traffic police actively uses the capabilities of the Republican system for monitoring public safety. First of all, cameras are used to record gross traffic violations, including driving at a prohibitive traffic light signal.
At the moment, about 2 thousand decisions have been made on such violations. Recall that the corresponding document is sent to the owner of the car, an information SMS notification may also come. Each intersection where violations are recorded is marked with an information plate, and the number of such places increases monthly.
Other violations in the field of road safety are automatically recorded, which contributes to more effective monitoring and prevention of violations.
