Participants of the campaign on the mountain range of Babugan-Yayla honored the memory of the fighters of the I-Yori detachment: they laid flowers at the memorial and honored the dead with a minute of silence. The event was organized by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea, the press service of the department reported.
The campaign was attended by students of the Crimean Law Institute of the University of Prosecutor’s Office, young specialists, teachers and employees of the Prosecutor’s Office.
From November 1941 to September 1942, the partisans of the I-Yori detachment resisted the German fascist invaders at Babugan-Yale. The detachment included local residents, Red Army soldiers and Red Fleet sailors.
Among the partisans was Abdurefi Ajiniyazov, who held the post of assistant prosecutor of the Alushta district. He joined the detachment on 1 November 1941 and was killed in the first battle with German troops on 27 November.
At the top of Mount Ai-Yori was an observation post, from where partisans watched the movements of German troops near Yalta and Sevastopol. At the place of basing of the Alushta partisan detachment there is a memorial sign.
