Within the framework of the conference “Moral bonds – the foundation of unity”, participants from among the activists of the movement “Kibers of Karelia” and students of PetrSU visited the Sretensky Church.
The tour for them was conducted by the rector of the temple - Father Leonid Leontyuk. He shared his thoughts on Orthodox traditions, spiritual values and their significance for modern society. The students were actively involved in the discussion: they asked questions, discussed how reliance on traditional culture contributes to cohesion and mutual understanding in society. But most interestingly, Father Leonid shared the unique stories that the Sretensky temple keeps about itself. For example, one icon of the mother of God, which is in the temple, was presented to one of the parishioners, but the reason was not ordinary - as the woman reports, she often dreamed in which the Lord God simply took her family relic to the Sretensky temple, which happened a few years later. It is also worth noting that a special fame for the temple brought the arrival of Vladimir Putin in 2008, who came to celebrate the feast of the Nativity in the capital of Karelia.
But even without this, the Sretensky Church is a unique Orthodox place, which in recent years attracts more and more parishioners.
