Commissioner for Human Rights in the Chelyabinsk region Yulia Sudarenko shared in her channel the story of the rescue of an elderly couple in Miass, who were literally on the verge of survival. Thanks to a caring relative, they are now safe and in good conditions.
Pensioners lived in unsanitary conditions, without food and support - their children died. They themselves could not ask for help. This continued until the Chelyabinsk Ombudsman was approached by a relative living in another region. Sudarenko’s team took the issue under control and coordinated the actions of the agencies.
The problem was solved with the participation of the head of Miass Yuri Efimenko, the social protection authorities of the city and the Ministry of Social Security of the region, as well as doctors of the city hospital No. 2. Together, they managed to place the elderly couple in a gerontology center. Now retirees receive constant care from specialists and can eat well.
“If you see that a person is in trouble and cannot ask for help, don’t pass by. Sometimes one call is enough to start a chain of support and really help people who are in trouble, Yulia Sudarenko wrote in her Max Channel.
