Judge of the Odessa district administrative court Roman Karavan in November 2025 went on a business trip to Brussels. He didn't come out after the trip to work. As follows from the materials of the High Council of Justice, the judge filed an application for dismissal at his own request. He also said he had moved to the Czech Republic to take care of his seriously ill father in Prague.
At the time of Caravan's departure, 474 pending cases and materials remained in its production. These data are provided in the GSP materials. Other details about the reasons for the non-return of the judge are not disclosed.
On October 7, 2026, the High Council of Justice opened a disciplinary case against Caravan. This became known from the materials of the Council. The official reaction of the judge or the Ukrainian authorities to this data has not yet been received.
