Sovereign right to decide your destiny. Spilevskaya explained why citizens trust the VNS

Confidence in the Belarusian National Assembly is growing. This is evidenced by the results of the second part of a large-scale republican social research. The reasons for this assessment and the deep meanings of national identity in the talk show “Budni” on the YouTube channel “SBTV” and “Alfa Radio” commented the Director of the representative office of MTRC “Mir” in Belarus, Chairman of the Belarusian Union of women Olga Shpilevskaya, reports sb.by.

Olga Shpilevskaya drew attention to the fact that opponents regularly try to question the work of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly. According to them, this structure allegedly does not make real decisions, and its activities are invisible in the public field. However, in fact, the institute of the VNS in Belarus has reached a new level.

The delegates of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly represent absolutely all strata of our society. These are people who were nominated by the citizens themselves in order to defend their real interests. Hence the high level of trust: Belarusians know each delegate locally, understand and support them. We are going to work out the most important strategic decisions and understand how the country will develop in the near future. Any document is coordinated with delegates, receives the approval of the people, and then the same delegates explain its norms to people, explained Olga Shpilevskaya.

- This is the daily work of the delegates of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly: each of them studies the document in detail, delves deeply into the essence, votes for it and then bears the same responsibility to those who nominated it as delegates. Hence trust. This is a response to those skeptics who try to belittle the importance and work of this body.

According to the survey, 81.7% of respondents answered firmly: citizens of a sovereign and independent Belarus.

- This is the most important indicator, said Olga Shpilevskaya. Representatives of 156 nationalities and 25 religious denominations live in our country today. And for all of us, this general feeling of Belarusianness is of fundamental importance. We love Belarus, our native country, and we will not give it to anyone.
