Sverdlovsk traffic police asks drivers not to drive at night and early in the morning
Sverdlovsk Region State Traffic Inspectorate urges drivers who have not yet changed tires to winter tires to refrain from traveling in the night and early morning hours

The Sverdlovsk Region Traffic Safety Authority urges drivers who have not yet changed their tires to winter tires to refrain from traveling in the night and early morning hours. In the region, temperatures are approaching zero, it is snowing – roads are slippery and the risk of accidents is growing. This is reported by the press service of the department.
The traffic police remind that summer rubber loses traction with asphalt already at +5 ° C, and on the icy surface the car becomes almost uncontrollable: the braking distance increases by tens of meters. Especially dangerous in such conditions are bridges, overpasses, overpasses and areas near water bodies: ice is formed there first.
Those who are still forced to drive are advised to move at a speed that allows you to stop in time, keep an increased distance and avoid sharp maneuvers. Brake should be smoothly, with a few presses on the pedal - sharp braking threatens skidding. It is also necessary to reduce the speed at pedestrian crossings, intersections and schools in advance.
Novice drivers in such weather conditions it is better to completely abandon trips.
Pedestrians are also advised to be extremely careful: cross the road only in permitted places, make sure the maneuver is safe and use reflective elements – in the dark they can save lives.
The traffic police emphasize: in the ice any mistake can lead to serious consequences. Drivers are advised to change tyres to winter tires in advance, and if this is not already done, wait out the bad weather.
Earlier, MK-Ural wrote that the governor of the Sverdlovsk region made an important appeal about bad weather. Significant deterioration of weather conditions is expected in the Middle Urals. According to forecasts, rain and snow will occur in the region.
The air temperature will drop sharply and the wind will increase. Ice is forming on the roads. Due to bad weather in the region will take all necessary measures to ensure security, said Governor Denis Pasler.
