Tambov resident for more than eight years abused his own children
Man found guilty of torturing minors to spend four years in prison

A man found guilty of torturing minors will spend four years in prison. The investigation found that for more than eight years he systematically tortured his children, taking advantage of their material dependence on him.
According to the court, the convict not only beat the children – including with improvised objects – but also constantly humiliated, insulted and threatened them. In addition, he deprived the children of food and sleep, and in the cold season kicked them out into the street, not allowing them to return to the house. As a result, one of the victims, fearing for his life and health, was afraid to return home, slept on the streets and twice left the family.
During the proceedings, the man denied the violence, claiming that he only used “educational methods”. However, the courts of first instance and appeal found this version untenable.
For the crime provided for in paragraphs "a" and "d" of part 2 of article 117 of the criminal code, he was sentenced to four years of imprisonment. The civil suits of the prosecutor filed in the interests of the victims were satisfied in full. The defense tried to appeal the sentence, but it remained unchanged.
