According to The Times of India, the investigation into the case of 20-year-old Siya Goyal from the state of Maharashtra received new information. The girl is suspected that she, along with a secret lover, killed her fiancé, and before the crime could secretly marry another man.
The main episode of the case remains the incident on June 18, when Goyal and her 26-year-old fiancé Ketan Agarwal went to the Iron Fort, a mountain fortress in the Pune region. The girl said that the man fell off the cliff during the shooting. Agarwal's relatives questioned the version of the accident, and it was later revealed that Goyal had a secret lover, Chetan Choudhary. The investigation found that the couple had planned the attack in advance.
New materials appeared in September. The indictment features a photograph of Goyal and Chowdhary wearing wedding lights. According to investigators, the ceremony could be held according to a Hindu rite in the temple of Khatu Shyam in Rajasthan in December 2025. There is no mention of marriage in the temple records.
The father of the deceased said he suspects Goyal's parents of involvement in the conspiracy. He believes the girl's family knew about the impending crime and did not intervene. Relatives demanded capital punishment for Goyal and Chowdhary.
