Warm autumn weather delayed the departure of bears in winter hibernation in the north of the Amur region. In the Tynda district, employees of the Directorate for the Protection of Animal World and Specially Protected Natural Areas found the last traces of a predator this season, the institution said.
According to the directorate, before laying down in the den, the bear walked around its territory. A few days later, experts checked the site and found no new footprints in the snow. This suggests that the animal has already gone to winter.
The institution noted that this year, due to the warm weather, the bears were somewhat delayed in leaving for the dens. So far, the temperature in the Tyndin district did not fall below minus 18 degrees.
At the same time, by the end of the week, weather forecasters predict a significant cooling. It is expected that after the onset of frosts, the remaining active bears will also go into hibernation.
