Three PEC members suspended in Mari El after ballot stuffing
Three members of the precinct election commission were suspended from work after detecting the stuffing of several ballots at polling station No. 343 in the village of Azanovo, Medvedev district. The incident occurred on September 19, the second day of voting in the elections of deputies of the state Duma.
The violation was noticed by observers of the Public Observation Center when watching video from the station. The fact of stuffing was confirmed by recordings from several cameras at once, after which the information was transferred to the Mari El Election Commission.
A mobile group of the headquarters of public observation went to the place. The Chairman of the Election Commission of Mari El Irina Tatarinova said that the necessary measures were taken.
In particular, the ballots were declared invalid, three members of the precinct commission were suspended from duties. The materials of the inspection were transferred to the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs for further legal assessment, the Mari El Electoral Commission reports.
