Three deputies replaced the Rostov region for other regions for the sake of a new convocation of the state Duma
Elections to the State Duma of the ninth convocation significantly changed the composition of deputies representing the Rostov region

Elections to the State Duma of the ninth convocation significantly changed the composition of deputies representing the Rostov region. The voting took place from 18 to 20 September, and according to its results, the regional representation was updated by more than half.
Some politicians who were elected from the Don region five years ago were unable to return to the federal parliament. Among them are Larisa Tutova, Anton Guetta and Victor Deryabkin. However, three other deputies retained their seats in the State Duma, although they changed the territories from which they ran.
According to DonDay, among them was a native of the Azov district Viktor Vodolatsky. In 2026, he participated in the elections on the party list of “United Russia” from the regional group uniting the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.
Vodolatsky first became a deputy of the State Duma in 2007. Subsequently, he received mandates in four more convocations, including the ninth. Thus, the politician will continue parliamentary activities, but not as a representative of the Rostov region.
A similar path went to Vyacheslav Nikonov, who was also elected on the list of United Russia from four new regions. His political career in the State Duma began in 1993. This was followed by a long break, culminating in a return to parliament in 2011.
After that, Nikonov was elected to the State Duma in 2016 and 2021. In the previous elections, he received a mandate from the Rostov region, and in September 2026 again passed to the federal parliament, but from another regional group. The current meeting was his fifth.
The third deputy, who changed the region of representation, was Alexander Borodai. Prior to joining the Russian parliament, he served as chairman of the DPR government. The politician received this position in May 2014 and left in August of the same year.
In 2021, Borodai was elected to the State Duma on the list of United Russia from the Rostov region. Five years later, he ran again for the same party but changed the way he ran. Instead of a party list, the politician ran in the Donetsk single-mandate district No. 14 in the DPR.
As a result, all three politicians representing the Rostov region in the eighth convocation will continue to work in the State Duma of the ninth convocation, but from other regions.
