About how the security of parcels at the post office is controlled in Belarus, Natalia Kozyreva, the head of the production of "Minsk Post" of the RUE "Belposhta", told on the air of the STV channel, sb.by.

Natalia Kozyreva noted:
“We have three levels of security controls for postal items. The first level is technological. The post office officer can examine the contents of the attachment, ask the customer to open the parcel if it was filed in a closed form, and assess the nature of the attachment: whether it poses a danger to both the sender or recipient and the postal network.
The next level of control applies to international mail. All such packages go to X-ray control. The operator looks at the scanned image and decides whether the attachment is dangerous or not. A manual inspection may then follow. Another level is cynological. All international mail is inspected by dogs.
Postal items in which the presence of a prohibited attachment is assumed to be detected daily.
“It should be noted that parts of unmanned aerial vehicles cannot be sent. Remotely controlled helicopters are also considered a prohibited investment. Toys with batteries can be sent inside. They sometimes go off suddenly. Such mail can also be classified as dangerous, because we do not know what kind of mechanism is involved inside, she said.
You should also refrain from sending animals by mail.
“We provide for the transfer of live bees, if you pack them properly. But other animals should not be sent, Natalia Kozyreva added.
The specialist also reminded that the sender is responsible for the security of the transferred attachment:
“We have the address details of both the sender and the recipient. If the presence of a prohibited attachment is detected on the route of transfer, both administrative and criminal measures may be applied to the person.”.
