Three gold, silver and bronze: Ulyanovsk rowers distinguished themselves at the World Cup

At once, five awards of international competitions will be brought home by Ulyanovsk athletes Danil Polozhentsev and Pavel Scriabin. At the Dragon Boat World Cup in China, they won three gold, one silver and one bronze medal, and also fulfilled the standard of masters of sports of international class.
The most successful for the representatives of the Ulyanovsk region were long-distance races. As part of the men's crews, athletes won 2000 meters in two classes of boats at once - D-8 and D-10. Another gold they brought the performance of the mixed crew D-10 at a distance of 500 meters.
Without awards, Ulyanovsk did not remain in other disciplines. In the mixed standings for 200 meters, they became silver medalists, and in the men's D-10 race for 500 meters won bronze.
The international tournament was held in the Chinese city of Yuanlin and gathered 28 teams from 19 countries. Participants competed on Dragon boats in male and mixed crews, covering distances of 200, 500 and 2000 meters. A separate test for men’s teams D-10 was the marathon length of 14 kilometers.
Russia was represented by three teams in neutral status: AIN Rodnik, AIN Ultra+ and AIN Tigers Vladivostok.
Danil Polozhentsev and Pavel Skryabin are part of the experimental group of the regional Sports Training Center. Following the results of the performance, the athletes fulfilled the qualification standard of the master of sports of Russia of international class in kayaking and canoeing.
For Ulyanovsk rowers, competitions in China ended not only with five prize results, but also with one of the highest sports standards.
