Tulyaks explained who will pay for the moose shot down on the road
The driver is responsible for hitting a wild animal and is obliged to compensate the damage caused to nature

The driver is responsible for hitting a wild animal and is obliged to compensate for the damage caused to nature. It will not be possible to transfer this responsibility to road services or other organizations. This was told by TASS expert Federation of car owners of Russia, head of its Novosibirsk branch Vyacheslav Ashurkov.
According to the specialist, the motorist is responsible for the consequences of the accident as a person managing a source of increased danger. The amount of compensation is calculated according to the established taxes and depends on the type of animal and other circumstances.
As an example, Ashurkov cited the Novosibirsk region. There, the basic amount of compensation for the downed moose is 80 thousand rubles, and for the female - 120 thousand rubles. Taking into account the state fee and court costs, compensation for an adult male exceeds 84 thousand rubles. If the animal belongs to the Red Book species or increasing coefficients are applied, the amount may be much higher.
At the same time, the presence of a valid OSAGO policy can help cover environmental damage. For this, the accident should be formalized with the participation of traffic police officers. If the driver leaves the scene, you will not have to count on insurance compensation. In this case, the damage will have to be paid independently. In addition, a motorist may face deprivation of a driver's license, and he himself may be declared wanted.
Independently compensate for the damage will also have drivers who do not have a CTP policy.
Ashurkov recalled that after a collision with a wild animal, it is necessary to stay at the scene of the accident and call the traffic police, as well as representatives of the department responsible for the protection of wildlife. This rule applies even if the beast disappeared into the forest after the impact.
Additional danger on the roads creates seasonal behavior of moose. As noted by biologist Dmitry Kropachev, these animals began the mating period. At this time, they become less cautious and more often go on the roadway. The largest number of accidents involving moose falls on the evening and night hours - from 19:00 to 2:00.
