Tourism, education and sports: FPB and China outline new areas of cooperation

Tourism, education, cultural and sports exchanges were the main topics of the meeting between Yuri Senko, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan. The parties agreed to develop cooperation in these areas, writes sb.by.

Yuri Senko spoke about the work of FPB and ongoing projects. In particular, the parties discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the field of tourism. The trade union tour operator can become one of the platforms for the development of tourist exchanges between Belarus and China. Separately, the modernization of the facilities of the FPB system was discussed, which allows to improve the quality of rest and update the infrastructure.

Another area is joint educational programs. Such cooperation is already developing at the MITSO University, where the Center for Chinese Language and Culture has been operating for several years. In August, a summer school for students from China was held here, and in September, nine representatives of the Belarusian educational institution went to study in Beijing.

- Issues of public diplomacy are very important when through close cooperation, including through the trade union movement, we can develop our bilateral cooperation, Yuri Senko said.

Zhang Wenchuan stressed that Belarus and China have common approaches to protecting the interests of workers and organizing their recreation. The Ambassador expressed readiness of the Chinese side to participate in the events of the Belarusian trade unions and to invite representatives of the FPB to similar events in China.
