At the Orel courtyards set traffic lights after the requests of residents

In the area of the Orel courtyards at the western entrance to Nizhny Novgorod from the side of the M-7 Volga highway, the construction of a new traffic light facility has been completed. The work was carried out under the road safety improvement program within the framework of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”.

The traffic light was installed after the appeals of local residents, who indicated the risk of crossing the carriageway with high traffic intensity. The facility has modern LED transport and pedestrian traffic lights, a road controller, callable pedestrian scoreboards, as well as the necessary communications.

“The intensity of traffic on the western entrance to Nizhny Novgorod is always high, and residents of the Orel courtyards have repeatedly appealed to ensure a safe passage here. Pedestrians can now feel protected. Let me add that since the beginning of 2026, eight traffic light facilities have already been put into operation, and work in this direction continues, said Kirill Shevyakov, Head of the Road Operation Department of GKU NO GUAD.
