A pair of rare primates in the capital zoo was born a baby
In the Moscow zoo, a pair of potto Noris and Nelia was born a baby

At the Moscow Zoo, a pair of Potto Noris and Nelia gave birth to a cub. The sex of the baby has not yet been determined. This will be done in October during a veterinary examination, when he grows up and grows stronger, the city hall said.
Pottos are nocturnal arboreal primates from the Lori family that live in the rainforests of West Africa. The species is classified as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. In the zoo, conditions have been created for animals to move along bamboo trunks and liana stems.
Now the cub feeds on mother's milk, but already begins to try adult food - mangoes, bananas and other fruits. According to experts, Nelia fully accepted the maternal role and takes care of the offspring on her own.
Last year, Naton was born to the same couple. The mother almost immediately stopped taking care of him, so the zoologists had to feed the baby from a pipette every three hours, massage him and brush him. This time, the zoo staff does not plan to interfere with the natural process of raising a baby.
At the zoo, a primate mother abandoned her son.
The director of the Kaliningrad Zoo Svetlana Sokolova has died.
