Family quests, exhibitions and large-scale events: how to celebrate the Week of Parental Love in Belarus

On the days of Parental Love Week, a broad program is prepared by cultural institutions, public organizations and local authorities. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus.

The press service said:

- The National Library will host thematic exhibitions, a round table “Many children in Belarus: spiritual traditions, family values and the future of the country”, an interactive program for parents and children “The whole family at the bookshelf”. From October 14 to 24, a thematic photo zone will work on the observation platform of the library. The Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Life invites families to master classes, the State Literary Museum of Yanka Kupala to the family quest “Adpachni Z Kupalam”. Thematic programs, excursions and quests will also be prepared by the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature and the Museum “Peace Castle Complex”.

Public organizations and enterprises will join the Parental Love Week, the ministry noted:

The Federation of Trade Unions will hold republican actions “Congratulations to Mom Together!” and “Congratulations to Dad Together!” The Ministry of Communications and Informatization, together with Belposhta, organizes the actions “Congratulations to Mother by Mail!” and “Father’s Day” for free sending of postcards purchased in designated postal facilities. In turn, the Ministry of Health, together with the Belarusian Women’s Union, will hold an action “Congratulations to Mother with Baby” on October 14-21. Congratulations will be given to women who become mothers during the week of parental love.

Also, a large program was prepared by regional executive committees, the Minsk City Executive Committee, institutions and public organizations on the ground. There will be receptions with the awarding of mothers with many children with the Order of the Mother, family and patriotic forums, sports holidays, meetings of parents and children, exhibitions, photo contests and thematic events in libraries. Separate events will focus on the role of mom and dad in the family, responsible parenthood, family traditions and intergenerational interaction. Regional and primary organizations of the Belarusian Union of Women will hold charitable and congratulatory events, events for large and foster families, honoring couples and parents, competitions, forums and family projects.

- The week of parental love will unite the efforts of authorities, public organizations, institutions and enterprises around the main thing - support for the family and strengthening family values, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection summed up.

Parental Love Week is timed to celebrate Mother’s Day (October 14) and Father’s Day (October 21). Free consultations on family issues will be held in Belarus within the framework of Parental Love Week
