Ulyanovsk explained how to obtain compensation if the pet was harmed in the veterinary clinic

Residents of the Ulyanovsk region can claim damages if after treatment in a veterinary clinic their pet was injured or died. Roskochestvo explained how to act in such a situation and what documents will be needed to protect their rights.

If after visiting the veterinarian the animal became worse, the owner is first recommended to seek help in another clinic. At the same time, it is important to preserve all documents related to treatment: the contract, checks, appointments, the results of tests and the conclusions of specialists.

It is also worth asking the first clinic for information about the procedures carried out, the prescribed drugs and their dosages. Additional evidence can be photos, videos and correspondence with employees of the institution.

After that, the owner must send a written claim to the clinic describing what happened. Depending on the circumstances, you can request a refund, a reduction in the cost of the service or reimbursement of the costs of re-treatment and examinations.

If due to poor-quality assistance, the pet was injured or died, the owner has the right to seek compensation for the damage caused, including the cost of the animal. It is also possible to claim compensation for moral damage. It is necessary to prove the relationship between the actions of veterinarians and the consequences.

In Roskachestvo specified that an independent examination to file a claim is optional, but its results can help establish the cause of the deterioration of the animal. If the dispute goes to trial, the decision will be made on the basis of all the evidence collected.
