Ulyanovets Dmitry Onikin won two medals of the World Championship in sports aerobics

Immediately with two awards returned from Spanish Pamplona Ulyanovsk athlete Dmitry Onikin. At the World Championships in sports aerobics, he became a silver medalist in an individual performance and won bronze in a mixed pair.

In the doubles category Onikin performed together with the Moscow athlete Livia Shavga. Their duo was formed during the training camp in Yekaterinburg, where the selection for the national team took place.

Preparation for the world championship took several months. Athletes trained six days a week for three to four hours. At the same time, the program was repeatedly refined, and in May they decided to seriously change it to make the performance more spectacular.

For the competition Dmitry prepared coach Anna Prokhorova. According to her, work on new programs began in the autumn of last year. In the process, the initial ideas have changed many times, and the opportunity to go to the world championship appeared after a successful performance at Russian competitions.

Particularly difficult for Onykin was the individual discharge. The athlete admits that in a single performance it is more difficult to cope with your own emotions: you have to rely only on yourself. Nevertheless, it was here that Ulyanovsk achieved his best result of the tournament - a silver medal.

He added a bronze award to her in mixed pairs. Thus, from Pamplona Dmitry Onikin took two medals of the world championship.

The championship itself was of particular importance to the team: according to the athlete, they went to competitions of this level for the first time in five years, so they approached the performance with a particularly serious attitude.

After the return of the international season for Onykin does not end. He has a new training camp and traditional international competitions in Bulgaria.
