Ulyanovsk engineers have created a device that can change the work of the ambulance

Ulyanovsk engineers presented medical equipment that allows you to automatically monitor the administration of drugs to patients. The new Alfey system is capable of working not only in hospital wards, but also during the transportation of patients by ambulances, helicopters and airplanes. The development was demonstrated at the international forum "Bioprom" in Gelendzhik.

The complex was created by specialists of the Ulyanovsk Design Bureau of Instrument Engineering (UKBP), which is part of the Radio Electronic Technologies Concern (KRET) of the Rostec state corporation. The main task of the equipment is to ensure accurate and continuous delivery of drugs, including in situations where the patient’s condition requires constant medical supervision.

The development was based on two devices that perform different functions. The first is intended for the introduction of small doses of drugs, the second - for the supply of significant volumes of medical solutions. If necessary, the devices can work as a single system or be used independently of each other.

One of the advantages of the complex is the ability to use it during the transportation of patients. The equipment is connected to the on-board power grid of an ambulance, medical helicopter or aircraft. If external power is not available, a replaceable battery designed for more than four hours of autonomous use provides the job.

In stationary conditions, the system can interact with the central control panel and the medical personnel call system. At the same time, the built-in memory allows you to store information about a thousand actions performed, which helps to track the operation of the equipment.

The devices are controlled using Russian software. The system provides an electronic library of medicines, which allows you to automatically set the necessary dosing parameters and the rate of administration of medicines.

Of particular importance is this accuracy in intensive care, surgery, oncology and neonatology, where even small deviations from a given drug regimen can be important for treatment.

The automatic syringe dispenser is able to administer drugs at a rate of 0.1 to 1200 milliliters per hour. It can be used for anesthesia, anesthesia, administration of adrenaline and other drugs that require strict dosage control.

The device independently determines the installed syringes with a volume of 10, 20, 30 and 50-60 milliliters. Several modules can be combined into one station, which allows the patient to simultaneously administer different drugs with individual settings.

In addition, it is possible to change the parameters of drug delivery depending on the time of day. This mode allows you to take into account the daily biological rhythms of the body during therapy.

The second element of the complex is an automatic infusion pump. It is designed to work with medium and large volumes of solutions, up to 10 liters. The feed rate is adjusted in the range from 0.1 to 1500 milliliters per hour.

Equipment of this type is used in infusion therapy, blood transfusion, as well as the organization of nutrition for patients through medical probes and gastrostomy.

The developers hope that combining the two devices into one system will allow medical institutions to use the equipment more flexibly, selecting the necessary configuration for specific tasks.

According to Alexey Melnikov, Deputy General Director of KRET for the Development of Civil Products and National Projects, the company relies on the creation of complex medical solutions in which individual devices complement each other.

According to him, the development has already been demonstrated at INNOPROM exhibitions in Yekaterinburg and Minsk. After the presentations, the company received feedback from potential customers.

In the future, the Ulyanovsk Instrument Design Bureau expects to meet up to 25% of the demand of the Russian market for equipment of this type. At the same time, we are talking about the potential production opportunities of the enterprise, not about the achieved market share.

Another platform for demonstrating the system was the international forum “Bioprom: industry and technologies for humans”, held on October 5-6 in Gelendzhik. The event brought together representatives of the medical industry, pharmaceutical companies and the biotechnology sector with the support of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.

For the Ulyanovsk enterprise, participation in industry exhibitions becomes an opportunity to present its own developments to potential customers and expand its presence in the medical equipment market.
