The final stage of the republican competition of professional skills of teachers "Teacher of the Year of the Republic of Belarus" will be held from September 21 to October 2 in Minsk. This was reported to the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency in the press service of the Ministry of Education.

More than 10 thousand teachers took part in the qualifying stages. The final stage of the competition will be held in Minsk. In the decisive battle of skill and talent, 63 people will compete in 9 nominations. And only 9 contestants will reach the superfinals, in which the winner will be determined.

The innovation of the Teacher of the Year this year was the introduction of two nominations – “Young Teacher” and “Young Director of an Educational Institution”.

The statistical portrait of the participants of the final stage of the competition is also interesting. Among the 63 finalists are 23 men and 40 women. The average age of the participants is 35 years. The most experienced - 52 years, the youngest - 24. The highest qualification category has 37 teachers, the qualification category “teacher-methodist” – 5. 52 people work in urban educational institutions, 11 in rural ones.

“Teacher of the Year competition has been a powerful impetus for the development of the education system for many years, identifying bright, enterprising teachers whose professionalism and civic position set high standards for the development of the industry,” the Ministry of Education noted.

In the Small Hall of the Palace of the Republic on September 21, the opening of the republican competition will take place. On the same day, the finalists are waiting for the first test - self-representation.

In the future, the participants will hold a series of competitive master classes, open lessons, withstand a comprehensive written work.

In the superfinal on September 29, teachers will participate in the briefing “Conversations about the main thing”. They will also hold mini-lessons on the stage on the topic proposed by the organizing committee. Solemn closing of the competition and awarding will take place on October 2.

By the way, the Minsk team of 9 teachers will take part in the Teacher of the Year of the Republic of Belarus. All summer the contestants passed trainings, improved their qualifications, worked on business cards to adequately present their pedagogical experience in the final of a large-scale competition.
