In the Amur region, a criminal case against a road master of a transport company was transferred to court. He is accused of violating safety rules, which led to the derailment of nine carriages of a freight train, according to the Eastern Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
According to the investigation, during two months of 2025, the employee did not provide proper maintenance of tracks at the Belogorsk station of the Trans-Baikal Railway. The man ignored the revealed remarks and did not organize the necessary repair work.
Inaction of the employee led to the extension of the rail track to excess values. On May 24, 2025, it caused an accident: nine cars derailed.
Damage to owners of rolling stock and transport company exceeded 20 million rubles. The actions of the master are qualified under part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic safety rules and operation of railway transport, resulting in negligence causing major damage). Investigators have gathered sufficient evidence to take the case to court.
