Conditional fire and damage to the fuel oil pipeline: the Northern mini-CHP in Grodno worked out the liquidation of the accident

In the branch of Grodno Heat Networks, RUE Grodnoenergo held a joint emergency and fire training, which was aimed at checking the readiness of power engineers for emergencies. This was reported in Grodnoenergo, writes sb.by.

According to the scenario, during work on the Northern mini-CHP, the crane hit the ground fuel oil pipeline with an arrow and damaged the power cables of the main fuel oil pump. In a matter of moments, fuel oil poured, an interphase short circuit occurred, after which a powerful fire broke out.

To localize the consequences and cope with the fire, operational personnel, the fire brigade of the Northern mini-CHP and the calculations of the fire service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations entered the battle with a conditional fire. Thanks to the clear cooperation of all services, the accident was eliminated as soon as possible.

“Conducting such training is an obligatory part of the system work. Errors at energy facilities can be expensive, so the actions of personnel in an emergency situation are brought to complete automation, said Sergey Gritsuk, head of the Northern Mini-CHP.
