Success on the Volga: two prestigious awards received the Karelian Puppet Theatre

The puppet theater of Karelia returned with triumph from Samara, where the results of the VIII All-Russian multi-genre festival "Volga Theater Seasons" were summed up.

The festival "Volga Theater Seasons" gathered serious competitors this season: the jury reviewed 15 diverse works from nine subjects of the country. Petrozavodsk troupe presented the fairy tale “Snow White and Dwarfs”, on which the famous director from Belarus Igor Kazakov worked.

The performance was hosted by the Samara stage, and the show was held with a full house. The audience met the artists with incredible warmth, arranging a long standing ovation and not wanting to let them go backstage.

Representatives of the theater shared details: the key achievement of the team at the national level was the recognition of the skills of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Irina Budnikova. Authoritative domestic critics who entered the judging panel unanimously gave her victory in the category "Best female role of the second plan (puppet theater)". She embodied the image of the insidious Queen-stepmother and virtuoso performance conquered the judging commission.

In addition, the jury noted the work of another master from the Republic of Belarus - artist Denis Kozlov. His visual design and scenography were recognized as the best, because he recreated the unique magical world on stage.
