“In America it is scary to go to the subway, and in Russia you can relax”: the American revealed that he was shocked after moving
The American escaped from his usual life and found what he lacked in Russia.

American blogger and teacher Brandon Slabo, who moved to Russia for a girl from St. Petersburg, told about his impressions of life in the country. According to him, here he was able to relax for the first time in a long time and stopped constantly looking around.
In the US, Brandon is used to being alert, especially in public places. However, after moving, he was surprised how calm he felt in the Russian subway even late at night. The blogger admitted that at home in such a situation would behave much more cautiously.
Especially strong for him was the contrast between the Moscow and New York subways. The American drew attention to the purity and general sense of security in Russia. However, he noted that the adaptation to a new life was not without difficulties: he had to get used to the language, local rules and bureaucracy.
Brandon shares his observations in a blog, talking about Russian realities from the point of view of a foreigner. According to him, the opportunity to feel calmer was one of the pleasant discoveries after the move.
