In the Baltic Sea off the coast of Svetlogorsk sank self-lifting platform. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case due to a possible violation of the safety rules of maritime transport.
According to the investigation, in October, a storm wind damaged the platform. First, the wooden deck and superstructures broke off, and then the floating module and hydraulic supports. After that, the structure drifted off the coast of Svetlogorsk, sank and eventually ended up on the shore.
The platform suffered numerous damages. The damage exceeded one million rubles.
Investigators have examined the scene of the incident and are taking the necessary actions to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
