This contributed to a closer consolidation of the efforts of the environmental agencies of the CIS member states in order to preserve a favorable environment for future generations.
“In Belarus, environmental protection is a key area of public policy and is comprehensive. It affects all natural components and ecosystems, as well as the economy, health, science, education and other spheres of society and the state, said Maxim Lysenko.
The Belarusian Minister transferred the powers of the Chairman of the CIS MES to the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov and wished him success in solving the tasks facing the Council.
The meeting participants also exchanged experience in such areas of environmental protection and environmental management as the management of production and consumption waste, their processing, utilization, use of modern information technologies in the framework of environmental activities. They also discussed the formation of an ecological culture and an environmentally-oriented lifestyle, the fight against climate change and its consequences, the introduction of the principles of a green economy and a circular economy.
The next meeting of the CIS MES is scheduled to be held in Russia in 2027.
