On September 20, polling stations for the election of deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation continue to work in all regions of Belarus. In Gomel, at polling station No. 8046 in the morning, high activity of those wishing to fulfill their civic duty was noted. As of 12:00 the right to vote used more than 200 people, writes sb.by.

Located in the center of Gomel, the polling station can be easily recognized not only by the flag of Russia and the plate with the number, but also by the confident and continuous flow of people who at some point even form small queues at the entrance. International observer, member of the House of Representatives representing the mission of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, Sergey Kazachok gives his assessment of the progress of the first half of the day of voting at the polling station:
- No violations were recorded, everything was organized at a high level. People come in the morning with a good mood and understanding of the importance of the process.

- They took Mark's son with them. In his year and seven months, he does not yet understand what elections are, but he quickly caught the festive mood - he smiles all morning and does not become capricious. My family and I have never missed an election campaign, so now we have taken the opportunity to vote for the future of Russia and become part of this important process in the life of the state.

- He is, by the way, the only one in the family for whom Belarus is a native country, introduces Irina with a smile. But my husband is often here on business, so the election was caught on another business trip. It would seem – a good reason to miss the vote, but even the thought did not appear. Wherever you are, it is important to remember your country and be a patriot.

At the stands with information about the parties participating in the elections, we get acquainted with the dynasty of medical workers. Anastasia Malashchenko lived in Novozybkov before her retirement and worked in a local hospital as her sister-mistress, and then moved to Belarus with her children. In his 85 years to the ballot box goes, relying on a stick, but cheerfulness and positive easily gives a head start to younger voters.
- This is what a holiday today, how can you not smile! – emotionally exclaims Anastasia Ivanovna. In my youth, I always went to the polls and now, as long as my health allows, I go. It was on this occasion that the family gathered in Gomel. My grandson came to my grandmother from Moscow and was with us today. In the evening we will gather at the big table and celebrate.
Along with Anastasia Malashchenko, her nephew Vladimir Kozlov also voted:
- I have been living in Gomel for more than 30 years, working as a doctor at an ambulance station. I can say only good things about Belarus, but I always remember where my roots are. You must be involved in the state of which you are a citizen. And there are a lot of relatives in Russia, and therefore I am doubly concerned about how the country will live in the future.
